From Executive Director, Md Somon Ahmed 

“Empowering Communities Today, Building For Tomorrow”

As a Civil Engineer and Quantity Surveyor (AssocRICS), I embarked on a journey to make a difference in both my professional and personal life. My name is Md Somon Ahmed and I am developing a charity organization called “ConstructionAid UK”.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working on some monumental projects. Among them were the refurbishment of the Geevor Tin Mine Museum in Cornwall and the construction of Bicester Community Hospital in Bicester. These projects not only tested my skills but also fueled my passion for contributing to the community.

My dedication to community service extends beyond my professional work. In 2009, I founded “Poverty Alleviation and Human Development Steps” in Bangladesh. Recognizing the need for a similar initiative in the UK, I later established the “Poverty Alleviation and Human Development Foundation, UK” that same year. My mission has always been clear: to eradicate poverty and improve human development.

Since 2000, I have been tirelessly working towards alleviating poverty. My efforts were recognized on a global scale when I became a Global Poverty Ambassador in 2013. The following year, I was honored to be named a Global Poverty Advocate by the Global Poverty Project, now known as Global Citizen.

Each step of my journey, whether through my engineering projects or my charitable endeavors, has been driven by a desire to make a lasting impact. Through ConstructionAid UK, I aim to continue this work, bringing together my professional expertise and my passion for community service to build a better world for those in need.

A brief about Constructionaid UK and PAHD(Poverty Alleviation and Human Development) Foundation UK

Constructionaid UK is a volunteering   organisation in the UK ,registered in the England and Wales as Limited Company by Guarantee (09911688).Constructioanid UK is supporting to Poverty Alleviation and Human Development(PAHD) Foundation UK, which is also a non-for profit organisation.It is a strong collaboration between Constructionaid UK and PHAD for change in the society and communities.Core objective for Construcitonaid UK and PHAD are providing  training for youth for construction trade to contribute into  national economy , to reduce benefit dependency  and to solve unemployment problem in the UK.
